Rarely have critics been as unanimous as in the appreciation of 'Clarion Fracture Zone'. The Sydney Morning Herald is quoted with the phrase: 'This is what jazz should be in the 90's.' On the other side of the globe Patrick Hinely, editor of American magazine 'Jazz Times' found their music to be 'the best I have heard' at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Den Haag, Netherlands. Their album 'Blue Shift' was chosen among the best ten releases of the year by the Canadian Jazz magazine 'Coda'. And, not enough praise, Clarion Fracture Zone received the annual award of the Australian Recording Industry Association in 1990. The band constitutes the birth of a new generation of jazz. Music cannot be more innovative - Jazz at it's best.
