The recording is diverse and illustrates Potter's dynamic sense of melodic rhythm, and his ability to lead his bandmates into a jazz journey. Featuring a number of different musicians, the tie of Potter's jazz-sense and ability to SWING yet have the 'coolest' vibe....as well as his leadership (usually it's Marsalis' lead) makes this an extremely well done, very accessible, tasty jazz recording. Potter's influences are wide-spread and are apparent in this great jazz recording deserving of some notice!!
