Description
To mark the 40th anniversary of Dense Band* Yatak Records is reissuing David Moss's groundbreaking album Full House (1984)!
Full House returns in this newly remastered edition celebrating the fortieth anniversary of one of David Moss's most adventurous recordings. Originally released in 1984, the album stands alongside Dense Band as a landmark of New York's Downtown experimental music movement, where Moss collaborated with influential artists including Fred Frith, John Zorn, Arto Lindsay, Christian Marclay, Bill Laswell, and Wayne Horvitz. Together they helped redefine the boundaries between improvisation, noise, performance art, groove, and experimental composition.
Where Dense Band explored expansive ensemble textures, Full House embraces the immediacy of the duo format through nineteen concise sound studies filled with rapidly shifting guitars, saxophones, percussion, manipulated vocals, turntable experimentation, and avant-garde rhythmic invention. The result is a constantly evolving sequence of inventive musical ideas that remains as challenging, energetic, and original today as when it first appeared.
Presented on CD in a newly remastered edition, Full House preserves a groundbreaking chapter in David Moss's remarkable career while documenting one of the most creative periods in experimental music history.
