Description
The fury of Avantgarde Black Metal enriched by Folk elements in the vein of Agalloch, Myrkur, Saor
Their last album 'Transumanza' confirmed DAWN OF THE DARK AGE as one of the most interesting acts of the Extreme Metal scene. Now after 2 years of hard work they present the new album titled 'Ver Sacrum'. It's extreme music, folk music and jazz blended together in a balance, capable of telling stories of times gone by in an absolutely unique and precious way. Talented Jazz musician, Vittorio Sabelli manages to combine the iconoclastic fury of Avantgarde Black Metal with the refinement and experimentation of the clarinet sound which becomes the main protagonist of a work that emerges from the ancient popular roots of Folk music to predominantly contaminate itself with the elements of Extreme Metal.
Musically, it is even darker and more sinister, with truly ancient atmospheres that leave an indelible mark on this work.
The theme once again harks back to the Samnites, and in particular to the so-called Sacred Spring (Ver Sacrum in Latin), a social and religious ritual common in pre-Roman times.
