The Dick Smith Band formed in 1978 and came from New Brighton .. a seaside resort on England's North west coast....

By the time the band finished in 1982 DSB had played over 1,000 gigs

If you never saw the band live hear how it was for the 1,200 fans packed into Birkenhead's Sir James Club New Year's Eve 1981 with the live version of Motorway Madness...recorded by legendary AC/DC live engineer Paul ' Pab ' Boothroyd who's incredible life on the road started almost forty years ago as DSB soundman . DSB guitarist Paul Madden and Pab knew the live tape had existed at one time and had almost lost hope of it ever turning up ..when somehow it did....the precious tape was mastered by Eve studios in Manchester and now it's as if you're there .. all those years ago ... pushing to get to the front at one of the bands greatest ever gigs ...
