Eddie 'Cleanhead' Vinson was one of the great alto saxophonists who enjoyed huge popularity throughout the 1970's in Europe. His career in fact started decades earlier in the 40's and this album features some of his finest recordings of that period including his mega hit 'Cherry Red Blues'. In his long and varied career Eddie was one of the major names on post World War 2 blues shouting and was much respected by jazz fans for his playing and his long tenure with Cootie Williams Band, no one can be disappointed in this marvellous collection swinging R&B. This is a must have album for early R&B aficionados.
