Ella Logan arrived in London from Glasgow in the early 1930s to sing on radio and record for Columbia Records. Within 2 years she had emigrated to America, appearing on Broadway ('Calling All Stars', 'George White's Scandals', 'Show Time'), at supper clubs and on radio before appearing in films in Hollywood ('The Goldwyn Follies', 'Flying Hostess', 'Woman Chases Man').
During the second world war she entertained troops in Europe and in 1947 she achieved her greatest success starring in 'Finian's Rainbow' on Broadway.
