Mainstream with roots in bop in which The two are perfectly at home, showing off an almost perfect understanding.

Carlo Atti is already in the Red catalog along with Hal Garper's trio, and here he is in top form, a tenor saxophonist who occasionally goes into the studio and on this occasion demonstrates an authority a la Scott Hamilton or Harry Allen, interpreting, with perfect pronunciation, pieces on which so many have performed. But Atti fears no comparison, expressing himself in respect of a tradition he has assimilated perfectly. The other co-leader, Emanuele Basentini, usually plays with Renzo Arbore's Italian Orchestra, and here he takes a bit of a liberty by taking some dizzying bop-like solos ('Sings My Heart') that are well integrated within the context.
