Emma Pilgaard's third album, A Woman's Voice, tells eight women's stories through contemporary jazz, inspired by Gry Jexen's work.

In 2022 Emma Pilgaard young jazz talent of the year as a part of Odense Jazz Festival. Now she is back with her third album 'A Woman's Voice' out on the 11th of September. Inspired by Danish author Gry Jexsen's book 'Kvinde kend din historie', Pilgaard's evocative new album traces the lives of eight women from Danish history, bringing overlooked stories into the present through sound. Recorded with a collective of acclaimed musicians from across Europe, the album blends virtuosic piano, free improvisation, and atmospheric textures into a rich, contemporary jazz soundscape. Each voice adds depth and contrast, creating a compelling dialogue between past and present.
