1998 marks the centennary of George Gershwin's birth. Perhaps the greatest American composer of all time, Gershwin has received many tributes, but none more heartfelt than this one from two American expatriates who have worked in Europe for decades. Etta Cameron is a fixture of the jazz, blues, and gospel scene in Denmark and Bill Ramsey has been based in Germany since the Fifties.

Here, with accompaniment from the SDR Big Band led by Dieter Reith, they tackle Gershwin's greatest songs, extracting new meaning from the timeless lyrics.
