Description

Since the formation of the bavarian band Fei Scho in 2003 the 5 musicians have achieved something that in other countries in Europe is already completely normal and has been established as world-music all over the world: a respectful evolution of the own traditions and roots free of the known clichés (especially from free of the so called Volkstumliche Musik, a mixture of Bavarian folk and and a poor kind of pop music) and the necessary self-confidence that allows you to mix modern music as well as foreign styles to your own roots. Fei Scho interpretes in a lovely and new way the traditional Landler and Zwiefacher with Bandoneon, Djembe and other instruments that are still new to the bavarian folk music. They cultivate some typical styles like the bavarian harmony chant that can be heard in the touching song Oben auf'm Berg as well the bavarian dialect and put Bavaria finally on the international map of world-music. Their new CD Ungrantig (ungrumpy) produces high spirits and shows the lovely and humorous site of the bavarian culture in contrast to the typical bavarian Grant (Grump).
