Description
A tribute to indie film consultant Bob Hawk, who gave filmmakers like Kevin Smith a leg up.
Robert ('Bob') Hawk has been a longtime advisor and mentor to writers, directors and film festivals, having been a part of the independent film scene for over thirty years. Starting with his involvement in documentary as a researcher on Rob Epstein's Oscar-winning 'The Times of Harvey Milk', Hawk has been credited with discovering and/or nurturing the talents of filmmakers such as Kevin Smith ('Clerks'), Joe Carnahan ('Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane'), Ed Burns (The Brothers McMullen), David Siegel & Scott McGehee (The Deep End) and more.
FILM HAWK takes an intimate look at Bob Hawk, from his early years as a young gay child of a Methodist minister to the man who shepherded the careers of and selflessly championed filmmakers on some of the most influential independent films and filmmakers of our time, in this critically acclaimed feature documentary written and directed by JJ Garvine and Tai Parquet.
