In 1994 Gordon released his groundbreaking album âJust For Seumasâ on Greentrax (CDTRAX 075), which achieved remarkable success and acclaim from reviewers and pipers worldwide. He followed this up in 1997 with âThe Circular Breathâ (CDTRAX 122), on which special (Irish) guest Gerry OâConnorâs banjo created an unusual combination with Gordonâs pipes, chanter and whistles. When Gordon was finally persuaded last year to record a third solo album, Greentrax gave him only one remit - âshow off your amazing skills on the Highland bagpipeâ! Gordon rose to the occasion and under the watchful eye of producer Tony McManus, who also laid down some of his customary stunning guitar, Gordon recorded thirteen exciting tracks which have âclassâ stamped all over them. This is very much an album featuring the Highland bagpipe although Gordon is also aided and abetted by Neil Fergusson (bouzouki), Ewan Vernall (bass guitar) and John Scullion (snare drum).
