Luis Frank Arias is from a younger generation, but traditional Cuban song culture has fascinated him since his childhood. Together with Juan de Marcos he has been largely responsible for rescuing these songs and their poetic lyrics from oblivion. He was the lead singer in Juan de Marcos' group 'Sierra Maestra'. De Marcos took him on again for his 'Afro Cuban All Stars' production; in the last two years of the Buena Vista Social Club, Luis Frank toured the whole world with it
