Description

Guitar Red's Hard Times is a singular 1976 Chicago soul record that blends funk, disco, blues, and early electronic soul. Available on 12" black vinyl

Guitar Red's Hard Times is a singular 1976 Chicago soul record that blends funk, disco, blues, and early electronic soul. Paul Johnson, performing as Guitar Red, played virtually every instrument himself, combining guitar, vocals, synthesizer, and drum-machine rhythms. The result is a raw, lo-fi and futuristic sound, with soulful ballads alongside offbeat grooves like 'Disco From A Space Show'. Available on 12' black vinyl.
