Description
.Noble folk-inspired melodies from the North and South, capable of moving and communicating.
This is an album, perhaps unique in its kind, because it expresses a type of jazz, seen from another perspective, that of musicians from Brazil or close to Brazil, who do not, however, allow themselves to be trapped in the expressive forms typical of bossa nova, of which there is no trace. Hector “Costita” Bisignani, musician and composer, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1934, but Brazilian by adoption since 1958, is considered one of the best South American flutists and saxophonists. We can coin the term Afro-Brazilian jazz with a percussive variant closer to the Bantu type ethnic element than Yoruba, as the polyrhythmic matrix of North American jazz.
