Classical music for accordion, although rare, was advanced in Germany when the Trossingen School of Music was founded in 1943. The small Schwabian town, home to accordion maker Ernst Hohner, was where Ernst-Lothar von Knorr and Hans Brehme composed music for the instrument. Their works are presented here by Helmut Jacobs, Professor of Romance Philology and Literature at the University of Duisburg.
