Works by the Irish composer Elizabeth Maconchy and the Spaniard Roberto Gerhard are included in this disc. Also included is the Sonata for flute and piano by William Alwyn. Alwyn, himself an Internationally known flautist, shows off the instrument's capacity and flare. Flautist Ingrid Culliford and Pianist Dominic Saunders perform the works in this album.
