P. Carter, to keep his music alive. Janette Carter sings in the forcefuland soulful Appalachian style pioneered by her mother, Sara Carter. She has made very few records in her career, but now Bearand the 'Howdayadoo' LP from 1973.
As you would expect, the core of the repertoire is Carter Family songs, but she also includes afew that she wrote herself, as well as several songs that the Carter Family performed, but didn't record. The instrumentation is spareand to-the-point, and the focus is on Janette Carter's lovely autoharp playing.
