Description
Celeste Shearer plays horn with the Roswell Symphony Orchestra and theÃÂ Southwest Chamber Consortium. She was a member of the El Paso SymphonyÃÂ from 1984 to 1991 under Maestro Abraham Chavez, and she continues herÃÂ association with EPSO today serving as a regular substitute. Celeste hasÃÂ also performed with the Lubbock Symphony, Las Cruces Symphony, AmarilloÃÂ Symphony, and the New Mexico Philharmonia. In 1989 she received aÃÂ fellowship to attend the prestigious Tanglewood Institute, where sheÃÂ studied with the Empire Brass Quintet. Most recently, she has premiered aÃÂ series of new works for horn, tuba, and piano.
Jim Shearer is the Regents Professor of Music at New Mexico StateàUniversity in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he also holds the title ofàDistinguished Achievement Professor. He is a recipient of both the D.M.A.àin Performance and Literature and a Performerââ¬â¢s Certificate from theàEastman School of Music. Dr. Shearer has toured the United States, Europe,àSouth America, and the Far East as a member of the NMSU Faculty BrassàQuintet, El Paso Brass, and the Eastman Wind Ensemble, and as a soloistàwith many other ensembles both large and small.
