Bass virtuoso Jukka Haavisto's 'Live at Eclipse Jazz Club' brings the listener into the midst of a dynamic and energetic live performance

Jukka Haavisto is known for his skillful blending of fusion jazz, world music and improvisation. The live recording brings the listener into the midst of an energetic and dynamic sound that is the hallmark of Haavisto's music. The singles 'Opus nr. 8' and 'Opus nr. 11' have been released from the album.

Live at Eclipse Jazz Club follows Haavisto's acclaimed 2022 debut album, Reflections, which introduced audiences to his guitar-driven fusion sound. With influences rooted in iconic 70s fusion jazz, Reflections was praised for its compelling compositions and the synergy between Haavisto and his bandmates.

Haavisto has done extensive work both in the studio and as a live musician. In addition to his own band he plays and performs with many different artists and ensembles. Among these, e.g. Jukka Haavisto Trio, Bossapoika, Beat, Bass & Bone, Heiskanen Bayatz Baharatz, VENHA and Helsinki Headnod Convention. Haavisto studied at the University of Stavanger, Norway, where he graduated with a master's degree in music performance and jazz improvisation in 2016.

Eclipse Jazz Club has been active in Tampere since 2016, with the key idea of bringing Finnish rising starts and crowd favourites to the city. Known for its excellent Jazz Happening-festival, the clubs enliven the jazz scene of the city beyond the festival season. Through this great release, the awarded work of Eclipse Jazz Club is therefore recorded in the annals of history.
