As a student, soprano Julia Sophie Wagner was intrigued by a timeline displayed at the University of Music Leipzig listing Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn as teachers. She has now put together a selection of lieder by Mendelssohn and Clara and Robert Schumann with her piano partner Eric Schneider. The CD also features songs by Edvard Grieg, who also studied in Leipzig between 1858 and 1862.
