The programme on this CD consists of some ofthe large-scale 'free' works ofthe most important composer of organ music,Johann Sebastian Bach (1685- 1750). Most of the master's organ compositions were intended for different festive occasions. The composer worked 1708- 1717 as chamber musician in Weimar and as organist at the court of Duke Wilhelm Ernst (1662- 1728). During this period Bach composed most of the organ music that is performed and heard today.
