Kira Skov left her home in Copenhagen at the age of 17 to pursue her dream of playing in a rock'n'roll band. For 8 years she journeyed through many foreign lands, which she traveled like a modern-day gypsy. Her path led her through many parts of the world, but for many years her base was in the cities of London and LA.
This album was never part of the plan. After the release of 'The Echo Of You,' her 2018 album dedicated to and about her late husband, Nicolai Munch-Hause, Kira immersed herself in a book project. But in an ironic twist, working with Danish texts and prose ended up opening a door to a new world of musical and lyrical composition, resulting in 'I Nat Blir Vi Gamle ('Tonight, We Grow Old').
Some of the music is inspired by the current state of things in the world, reflecting on the feeling that time is running out and that we may have caused irreparable harm to the things around us. The album can also be understood as another step forward in personal morning, written from a new perspective. But most of all it's a musical offering that stands strongly on its own merits and one that can be experienced independently of Kira's personal narrative and freely interpreted by absolutely anyone who listens.
