The album examines the concept of madness and what are the causes of it. Indeed Faerenus is the ethereal place where the most hidden fears come to life creating times, places and divinities. The mind turns against itself mutating memories into obsessive nightmares without escape.
Everything starts with the intro (Amon), a cacophonic and distorted hymn to madness reaching the peak with the title track (Faerenus): a no-place full of hidden symbols and obscure meanings, ending with a lullaby (EtereaEl) that leads you to understand that, once you reach that place, you are not able to leave it again.
Kormak was born in October 2015 from an idea of the singer Zaira de Candia with the original line-up. The band takes its name from 'The Kormak Saga', a fantasy literary work loved by all the members.
The different influences of the musicians led the project to range in different genres, keeping the folk and celtic metal as matrix.
In March 2018 they realized their first single 'The Goddess' Song', which belongs to the first official album 'Ferenus', released in North America on July 6, 2018 by Rockshots Records.
