The album released by Alba Records is a tribute to Jukka Linkola's music. It contains two series composed by Linkola: Spells and Strange Kantele. The eight-part series Spells is inspired by the similarities Linkola discovered while studying the songs and spells of Native American tribes in the Lake Michigan region, as well as old Finnish spells. These influences gave rise to a series whose music has joy, playful and lifelike expression, and simple, unadorned beauty. Spells are a praise for nature and man, for all the wonders of everyday life, for coincidences, for work and of course for love. The Strange Kantele series will be heard on the record for the first time in its entirety in seven parts. Linkola has edited the lyrics of Kantelettare's verses and brought to the world of Kalevala a dose of bold cabaret spirit, strong, even slightly theatrical expression and a touch of jazzy swing.
