Lancy learned to play the guitar from his father Bobby Falta with whom he later founded the Falta duo when he was 10 years old. Lancy is now one of the versed and virtuoso gypsy jazz guitar players in Germany. His great level of playing and his his fantastic technique led him to play with musicians like Joe Pass, Chaka Khan, Wolfgang Lackerschmid, Carlos Benavent, Joe Zawinul, Kitty Winter and others. Currently he is touring with his cousin Dotschy Reinhardt and has recorded at the same time his first solo album In The Fields”. Lancy Falta recorded his music in a small setting. Just with guitar, violin, double bass and percussion he is letting the music flow. In The Fields” is from the beginning till the end an expression of the fun of playing together. Like on an open field the music moves from Lancy's original compositions like Bobby's Rumba”, In The Fields” or Gypsy Waltz” to classics like Sweet Georgria Brown”, Down here on the ground” or the Charlie Parker standard Donna Lee” with its uptempo melody played unisono by guitar and violin.
