Description
CD with 32-page booklet, 22 tracks. Playing time approx. 78 mns
Songwriter Lesley Schatz collected a lot of material for these 1989-92 recordings while traveling in Europe, where she seems to have been especially moved by her experiences in Byelorussia.
Take A Stand (For The Children) concerns the effect of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, while songs like Foothills Lullabye reflect the life of a lady folk singer. Schatz wrote or co-wrote most of these 22 songs, recorded in Canada, Nashville and Norway with a variety of country-rock and folk-style accompanists.
