Welsh composer, beautiful music
The Welsh/Canadian composer John Metcalf has written several operas - two of which were commissioned by Welsh National Opera. Metcalf has always been interested in an active participatory role for the composer in society and has received generous sponsorship supporting his creative work. For several years his opera work was developed and performed at the Banff Center in Canada. He is Artistic Director of the Vale of Glammorgan Festival and was also appointed Artistic Director of the Swansea Festival.
