Description
G.O.M.P. brings together four cinematic voices for solo cello, where silence, resonance and memory become the patient grammar of form.
For some years now, the figure of Carl Czerny is finally emerging in all his interest. During his lifetime Czerny published 861 opera numbers and left another 150 works published posthumously: among these are Symphonies, Concerts for Piano and Orchestra, Sonatas for Piano, a huge amount of chamber music works and even sacred and vocal works. The Sonatas of this recording bear three different 'characteristic' titles: Military, Sentimental and Pastoral. They precede the usual adjective 'et Brillante', on whose expressive basis they develop with a powerful personality. The piano duo of Florence (Sara Bartolucci and Rodolfo Alessandrini), with 30 years of professional experience, offer the world premiere of three gems of nineteenth-century pianism and explore, together with Clara Franziska Schoetensack and Augusto Gasbarri, a world that thanks to their relentless research it is gradually coming out into the light. With these pieces, the duo demonstrates how Czerny was much more than the music teacher he is always considered, placing him among the great authors of his time.
