Description
Music with sweet and sharp rhythms, melancholy and cheerful melodies, with signs of deep inner happiness.
Percusa, a Brazilian term for percussion, the emblem of the encounter/enchantment between Luis Agudo and Daniele Di Gregorio. The former, a South American, is the bearer of an ancient and deep Afrolatin rhythmic tradition; the latter, a European, grew up in the world of Western academic percussion. Both found in jazz, in its polyculturality, in its way of conceiving 'making music' together, the ground for a possible musical encounter. A possibility that became a reality in this engaging duo project, totally based on improvisation, on the dialogue without a net that develops from the proposal of rhythmic cells, of short and characterized themes and is enhanced by listening to each other, leading to a constant invention of new ideas, of imaginative interweavings, of unusual colors. A duo that uses an impressive amount of percussion instruments: European, Latin, African or built by the musicians themselves, which also give the concert a strong component of sound spectacularity.
