Description
'The era of the Tenor sax' is how Duke Ellington described the post-war slump that saw the decline of the big bands. Many of the sax stars of the big bands enjoyed huge success in the R&B charts, especially the exotic Lynn Hope -'the amazing man with the turban' who took the standard 'Tenderly' into the top 10 in 1950. This is the first full CD to be devoted to his recordings for the Aladdin label and includes two previously unissued tracks.
