Sam's Live 1969 Raw Blues is much like the earlier Delmark live recordings. Yes, it shows the power of Sam's guitar playing and his amazing vocal ability. Despite the age and condition of the tracks, Magic Sam fans certainly won't be disappointed in Sam's performance at legendary Bay Area Rock/Blues club, Mandrake's. If nothing else, it is further affirmation that this west side giant gave us his all playing small clubs just as he did at high profile blues festivals or rock emporium, where he finally gained long overdue recognition just months before his tragic death
