On this live-concert recording, you can hear the rhythms of Harlem in Ellington's rarely performed orchestral works, Harlem (1950) and Night Creature (1955). This program also includes Mood Indigo and Caravan, two of Duke's greatest hits, expanded for full orchestra by composer/conductor David Berger, and the Queen's Suite which Duke composed in in 1959, in honor of his meeting with Queen Elizabeth (Berger added parts for strings and harp years later).
