The latest work by an incredible trio of intense lyricism.

An important contribution to the positive developmentof the trio's music is due to the entry of Vieira, who integrates perfectly into the lineup. The double bass player not only ensures effective rhythmic support, but constantly interacts with his bandmates, providing a fruitful contribution of ideas to the group's music. With the entry of Vieira the trio has achieved stability: Mosca ensures a refined and dynamic rhythmic propulsion while Matos freely creates his own melodies on the keyboard with Vieira; the latter stands out for the beautiful sound of his instrument and is also active in terms of composition. Indeed, the double bass player signs two songs and is also the co-author of Partida, the extemporaneous improvisation that opens the album. His two pieces, Compreensiva and Estrada Rural, showcase the expressive skills of Vieira who develops the solo parts in a melodic key, avoiding taking the path of easyto-effect virtuosity. In the first piece his intervention is a prelude to Matos' solos who then takes over the scene and leads the piece in a slow and constant crescendo until its conclusion. In the second, however, the Cuban pianist is the absolute protagonist. His solos enhance a captivating and well-written composition. Vieira then intervenes in the revival of the theme which is exposed in a linear manner, without any masking or variation. Compared to the past, however, there is another novelty. For the first time, pieces not signed by the members of the trio were included in the proposed repertoire. In fact, the setlist also includes two classic compositions from the Brazilian repertoire that represent very distinct and distant periods from each other. Rosa Morena, which closes the album, was composed in 1942 by the noble father of Bahian song, Dorival Caymmi. The piece is built on a very slow tempo, with the theme initially marked by a leaden double bass. All that remains of the original light-hearted samba rhythm is an implicit echo.
