Sebastian Lee (1805-1887) was one of the foremost cellists of his time, and for over 30 years he taught at the Conservatoire in Paris. Of his numerous collections of studies, Op. 31 and Op. 70 are standard works in every cellist's education. This recording is the last of an acclaimed series of recordings that Martin Rummel made of all major cello etudes, all to be re-released on paladino music within the near future.
