Saxophonist and vocalist Max Wagner debuts his first recording as leader for Capri Records. His playing comes out of the Lester Young school and he has been called a powerful and innovative soloist with a vocal style is reminiscent of early Chet Baker recordings. There is a pleasant mix of both vocal and instrumental tracks. Max has appeared on over 50 recordings as a sideman but it's now time for him to step forward and take the lead.
