John Coltrane died on July 17th 1967, at age 40. Jimi Hendrix died September 18th 1970, aged just 27. Despite their early departures, their musical legacies grow in reach and importance with each passing year. Many have built on where they left off and wondered how would it have sounded if Hendrix and Coltrane had crossed paths while still alive and at their peaks. The meeting between Coltrane's cosmic and Hendrix's psychedelic universes might well have sounded something like we hear on this recording from guitarist Mikkel Nordso, the 'Swedish-Dane' tenor saxophonist Tomas Franck, Ben Besiakov on keyboards, Anders 'AC' Christensen on bass and legendary American drummer Alvin Queen.
