Description
The Mongolian art of overtone singing added to the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010.
Through 43 tracks, including 28 previously unreleased, this double disc gathers the essentials of mongolian khöömii, from early sound archives to the present day. This is about promoting and giving due recognition to khöömii in contemporary life, in providing fair representation of all its movements -- rural and urban streams, amateur and professional -- in the face of all forms of hierarchy.
