Nat King Cole's music will continue to live on for many generations.
Nat King Cole, who was responsible for selling millions of records during his lifetime, was born in 1919 in Montgomery, Alabama, the son of a Baptist Minister. Young Nathaniel started playing the piano when he was only four years old and then begun playing with local jazz bands in Chicago during his late teenage years. The big professional break came in 1936 when he joined the all-black revue Shuffle Along.
