With true passion, I have begun to write a collection of ballads for choir; something which, I believe, does not yet exist.' In a stirring performance by the NDR Choir, Mondnacht', based on Joseph von Eichendorff's eponymous poem, features music by Schumman written in 1849. The CD also offers Clara Schumann's sublime 'Abendfeier in Venedig' and music for men's choir by Wilhelm Killmayer.
