Original Broadway Cast featuring legendary stars Ben Vereen, Stubby Kaye and Carol Woods.

Harold Prince directed this Broadway Musical that featured big Broadway stars such as Stubby Kaye and Ben Vereen. This original Broadway Cast Recording preserves the collective talents of some of Broadway's greatest names; Harold Prince, Stubby Kaye, Ben Vereen, Bill Byers, Timothy Nolen and Florence Klotz.A poweful story with a powerful score was not what Broadway was expecting in 1985. This work was ahead of it's time which, if it were to open today, in the company of RAGTIME, LES MISERABLES and RENT would probably be the hit it deserved to be
