Argentinean tango jazz legend Pablo Ziegler takes the genre one giant step forward by combining and re-casting the arrangements for his trio for the unique orchestra/big band sounds of the Amsterdam-based Metropole Orkest. For decades, the Latin Grammy®-winning pianist and composer has been one of the leading creators of the Argentinean New Tango, the vibrant musical hybrid of classic tango and American jazz. Between 1978 and 1989, Ziegler worked continuously with the great Astor Piazzolla and contributed substantially to his enormous success. The Amsterdam-based Metropole Orkest is no stranger to the world of ambitious jazz, pop, classical, and world music crossover projects, having performed with Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Al Jarreau, Maria Schneider, Egberto Gismonti, and many others.
