Ten intense days in the studio, supported by a wealth of concerts beforehand, have fused guitarist Paulo Morello, bassist Sven Faller and drummer Mauro Martins into a single musical organism.

Each piece tells its own story: The opening track, 'The Birds and the Bees,' comes from Attila Zoller, a mentor to Morello during his New York years - a tribute to an influential artistic friendship. 'Entre as Ondas' captures the lightness of a sunlit afternoon at the beach, while 'Cookin' at the Birdland' reflects the vibrant pulse of a packed jazz club in Neuburg, Germany.

A rare gem is 'Se Ela Perguntar,' a delicate guitar miniature by Brazilian master Dilermando Reis - likely recorded in this form with a trio for the first time. 'Flor do Cerrado' by Waldir Azevedo bursts with lyricism and rhythmic finesse, while 'Minha Saudade' by João Donato carries a touch of Coltrane in its harmonic foundation.

And then there are those spontaneous moments you can't plan: a laid-back warm-up samba that suddenly turns into 'Beautiful Love,' the delicate interplay between bass and guitar in 'We'll Be Together Again' - and Martins, whose finely measured brushwork keeps the pulse just right.

The album title MOVING reflects the energy of the funky, blues-inflected title track, the openness to new paths, and not least Morello's own move to Berlin. It also stands for music that moves effortlessly between genres and touches the listener directly.
