JSP had cut one Phil Guy album after being wowed by his guest spots on brother Buddy's sessions. Then the label organised a national English tour by a full Chicago blues band headlined by Phil. This is the album that went with the tour - for the first time on CD and with some extra tracks. Cut at Soto Sound in Chicago with the band that made that tour, it's Phil Guy as he then was - direct, wild, full of the Louisiana and New Orleans influences of his youth but also bringing in influences of soul/blues and funk. For a bonus there's a radio session cut the following year with the Norman Beaker band, Phil's favorite set of British musicians (as they were not slavishly trying to be something they were not....). The extra bonus track, the video clip gives you a better flavor of the man than a thousand words.
