Live Album Featuring Gary Richrath

i>You Get What You Pay For captures the electrifying guitar work of Gary Richrath, the legendary former REO Speedwagon guitarist and songwriter, in a previously unreleased live performance with the Richrath Band. Following his departure from REO Speedwagon, Richrath embarked on a new musical chapter when he met vocalist and songwriter Michael Jahnz, whose powerful voice proved an ideal complement to his unmistakable guitar style. Richrath invited Jahnz to front his new band, beginning a musical partnership that would continue for more than a decade. With Jahnz handling lead vocals, Richrath contributing his signature guitar playing, songwriting and backing vocals, and drummer Tray-Cie Martins providing a driving rhythmic foundation, the Richrath Band developed a distinctive sound rooted in melodic hard rock and the musical legacy of one of America's most successful rock groups.

Recorded live at Trancas in Malibu, California, You Get What You Pay For preserves the energy, musicianship and spontaneous excitement of the Richrath Band in concert. The performance showcases Richrath's expressive guitar work and the chemistry he developed with Jahnz and Martins through years of performing together. Long preserved in the band's archives, these recordings have been brought back to life by Richrath Project 3:13, offering fans an opportunity to experience a rarely documented chapter of Richrath's career. The album celebrates the music and friendships that defined his post-REO Speedwagon years while preserving the unmistakable sound of a guitarist whose playing helped shape classic American arena rock.

Released by Dark Star Records, You Get What You Pay For is both a tribute to Gary Richrath's enduring musical legacy and a historical document of his work beyond REO Speedwagon. For longtime fans of Richrath's guitar playing, classic rock enthusiasts and listeners interested in the evolution of the Richrath Band, this archival live recording offers a direct connection to the performances and musicianship that kept his music alive onstage.
