RunnAmuckS best record with the original lineup is finally back on vinyl. Recorded January 2003, by James Lott at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, Of a Different Breed captures Josh Dobbs, Mike Quinnan and Mat Graeven tearing through 16 tracks of raw, fast and relentlessly energetic punk rock. The record is packed with snarling vocals, sharp hooks, pounding rhythms and the kind of reckless urgency that makes every song feel ready to fly off the turntable. From the opening charge of 'LoneWolf' through 'Detonation,' 'Gotta Get a Grip,' 'Graveyard,' 'Addicted to You,' 'I Gotta Move' and the title track, RunnAmuckS deliver no-frills punk built around frustration, alienation, dark humor and the need to break free. The album closes with their takes on Black Flag's 'Depression' and The Stooges' 'I Got a Right,' with Sam Siress contributing shred guitar to both tracks. Of a Different Breed returns with a completely new mix and master by Josh Dobbs at Danger Room Recording Service, giving the songs renewed power while preserving the grit and attitude of the original sessions.
