RE-INVENTIONS showcases Austrian percussionist and composer Rupert Struber's extraordinary range as both performer and interpreter, presenting a program designed to explore the remarkable sonic possibilities of the percussion family. Drawing upon nearly one hundred different instruments, Struber transforms noise, resonance, rhythm, and texture into expressive musical language through meticulous articulation, phrasing, and dynamic control, creating a listening experience that is as technically impressive as it is artistically engaging.

The program spans Struber's own compositions alongside landmark works from the modern percussion repertoire, including pieces for marimba, vibraphone, snare drum, junk percussion, solo typewriter, and electroacoustic performance. Works such as Marimba Spiritual, War Drum Peace Drum, Typing, Re-Inventions, and Xenakis' Rebonds B illustrate the extraordinary diversity of contemporary percussion performance while highlighting the expressive potential of unconventional sound sources.

A graduate of Salzburg's Mozarteum University and Vienna's Music and Arts University, Rupert Struber has performed at leading international festivals including the Salzburg Festival, Schwetzingen Festival, Hong Kong Drum Festival, Shanghai Arts Festival, Festival Echternach, Wien Modern, and many others. RE-INVENTIONS serves as both a virtuosic recital and an exploration of percussion's limitless musical possibilities.
