Rather than serving as a conventional greatest-hits anthology, the collection offers a focused selection of blues and blues-rock performances drawn from the band’s work between 1992 and 2007, including “Going Down To Mobile,” “Little Wheel,” “Keep On Rollin’,” “The Blues Keep Me Holding On,” “Yesterday’s Blues,” and the live title track.
Across these recordings, Savoy Brown’s lineup changes several times, but founding guitarist Kim Simmonds remains the group’s constant creative and musical leader. The compilation reflects the contributions of the many musicians who helped sustain the band’s sound during this era, moving through driving blues-rock, traditional blues forms, reflective performances, and road-tested ensemble playing without losing the identity established under Simmonds’ direction.
Savoy Brown was formed by Kim Simmonds in London, England, in 1965. From the group’s first singles in 1966 through 2022, the year of his passing, Simmonds served as its guiding hand.
