French Alto saxophonist Sebastien Chaumont has released his first American album, 'STILL WALKIN''.

Alto saxophonist Sebastien Chaumont from France has put together a Quartet for his first American release, 'STILL WALKIN''. Seb is a mixture of Bud Shank and Art Pepper. Seb for the aficionados of the saxophonist from Nice Sébastien Chaumont, for about ten years, he is one of the figures of Côte d'Azur jazz, a very diverse jazz with all its tendencies including that of Seb who is in the purest line of Charlie Parker with notes that swing those that mark the great standards in the history of jazz. Often, people do Bebop jazz and they don't know what was before and what is after when we talk about modernity... For me, it's something quite relative and, I don't see how Bach is less modern than McCoy Tyner since music is the representation of something that happens in the moment... Me, I play Charlie Parker, it's my language but I don't even pretend to want to play like Parker, it's just my language, modal music, it's just a classical music school... For me, the important thing is to dare, to innovate but with a solid and traditional basis. The album is a combined effort of Manufacture de Lombre Recording in France and ITI Records. This album has been recorded with an 8 tracks Reel to Reel and Mixed on an 8 tracks analog mixing desk Audio Developments, without numeric processing. Recorded by César Valentine and Félix Petit-Nicolas. Mixed & mastered by César Valentine. Musicians: Sébastien Chaumont - Sax Alto, Olivier Slama - Piano, Sébastien Lamine - Double Bass, Max Miguel - Drums. The album reached #55 on the JazzWeek Chart in 2014.
